RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Early Tuesday morning, a car caught fire inside of a Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) parking deck. A little after 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, a car fire broke out in a VCU parking deck on North 8th Street in downtown Richmond. According to the Richmond Police Department, the car's owner arrived for work, pulled into the parking deck and noticed her car was beginning to fill with smoke. The owner got out of the car, popped open the hood and a fire broke out. There were no reported injuries or other cars damaged, but damage to the parking deck itself was reported.
