PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Halloween has come early this year! If you know a child who wants to get more use out of their costume, you're in luck. ALSO READ: The best local Halloween displays of 2024 in RI, Mass. Here are a number of local trick-or-treating events happening before Oct. 31: Rhode Island Barrington Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 27: The 3rd Annual Beach and Treat will run from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Barrington Beach. Participating cars need to be in place by 3 p.m. and can sign up by emailing [email protected]. The best trunk will receive a prize. Anyone who comes to trick-or-treat is asked to bring a food donation. Bristol A Coggeshall Halloween, Oct. 26, 27: The Coggeshall Farm Museum is going to be decorated for Halloween the next two weekends. Kids can visit themed trick-or-treat stations, carve an apple or turnip head, play games and watch a magician. Registration is recommended. You can register and buy tickets here. Cranston Halloween Touch-a-Truck, Oct. 27: From 9 a.m. until noon at Garden City Center, kids can climb and explore big rigs, fire trucks, police cruisers, school buses and more at this event. There will also be face paining, balloon animals, crafts and treats. It costs $10 per family to attend. Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 27: Hope Church is hosting its annual event at 4 p.m. at 1114 Scituate Ave. The event is open to all families with children through 6th grade. There will also be a bounce house and snacks. Organizers ask that attendees not wear costumes that may scare younger children. East Providence Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 26: This event hosted by the Holy Ghost Brotherhood of Charity starts at 5 p.m. at 59 Brightridge Ave. There will be contests for best car decoration and costume. All vehicles must be decorated by 4:45 p.m. Johnston Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 29: The Johnston Police Department is hosting its annual Trunk-or-Treat event from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Johnston Senior High School parking lot. There will be candy, popcorn and more. Narragansett Annual Costume Parade, Oct. 26: The Maury Loontjens Memorial Library and Friends of the Narragansett Library are inviting families to become a part of their costume parade. Children of all ages are invited. The event will start at 1 p.m. at the library. The parade will go down the sidewalks to the beach parking lot where kids can then go trunk-or-treating. Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 26: Narragansett Parks and Recreation is hosting its first annual trunk-or-treat at 1:30 p.m. in the south lot of Narragansett Town Beach. Providence Trick-or-Treat in Wayland Square, Oct. 26: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be trick-or-treating at the shops, tarot card readings, and at 1 p.m. there will be a costume contest. 4th Annual Wicked Walk, Oct. 26: This trick-or-treating experience runs from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Providence pedestrian bridge. There will be Halloween Doors for kids to trick-or-treat, themed activities and a dog costume parade. South Kingstown Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 26: This event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the South Kingstown YMCA. West Warwick Family Halloween Party, Oct. 30: The West Warwick Public Library is hosting a party at 6 p.m. with games, treats and music. You must register for the event by calling 401-828-3750 ext. 2 or by clicking here. Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 26: The West Warwick Police Department is hosing its annual trunk-or-treat event at Riverpoint Park. Cars may arrive at 4 p.m. and begin decorating. The pumpkin derby will start at 5 p.m. Trunk-or-Treat will run from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Anyone parked there will not be allowed to leave until the trunk-or-treat is over. There will also be free hayrides and prizes for most creative car decorations and costumes. Massachusetts Fall River Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 26: From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Bishop Connolly High School, kids can trick-or-treat and play games. There will be a best-decorated trunk contest with prizes. You can register for the event by clicking here. Foxboro Patriot Place Trick-or-Treating Spooktacular, Oct. 24: Families can go trick-or-treating for free from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Patriot Place. There will be treats for kids of all dietary needs. There will also be live music on the Dean College Stage from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests who pre-register for the event will be entered to win an autographed Drake Maye jersey. New Bedford Trunk-or-Treat, Oct. 25: The New Bedford police and fire departments are hosting a trunk-or-treat event from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the South End Public Safety Building.
