A 14-year-old youth has been charged in a fatal October 11 shooting in Greenville.According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, her office’s homicide unit arrested the young Jersey City man yesterday on Bergen Avenue. He is charged as ajuvenile with murder and two counts of weapons possession. Due to his age, all other information is being kept confidential. The shooting took place on October 11, shortly before 5 p.m., says Suarez. Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Garfield Avenue and Brown Place. There, police found the 19-year-old victim, Kashyne Grant, with a bullet wound to the upper body.Grant was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he died three days later. Grant’s death broke a five-month stretch without a homicide in Jersey City. To mark the accomplishment, last month community leaders celebrated “A Summer of Peace.” The killing comes at a time when homicides are down both locally and nationally. The post 14-Year-Old Charged in Greenville Homicide appeared first on Jersey City Times.
