GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay Packers and Sargento joined forces Tuesday for an employee day of action at Paul’s Pantry as part of the ongoing Touchdowns for Hunger program. Packers and Sargento employees teamed up to sort donations and repackage bulk items to benefit the free, community-supported grocery store that serves families in need throughout the Green Bay area. The funds are shared between Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay and the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee. “Paul’s Pantry is honored to partner with two organizations that are synonymous with Wisconsin: the Green Bay Packers and Sargento,” said Craig Robbins, executive director of Paul’s Pantry. “Through the Touchdowns for Hunger program, Sargento and the Packers continue to make a huge impact on the lives of families in need. But the need in our community is about more than just food and funds. We also rely heavily on volunteers to give their time in support of our work to feed the hungry. That’s why this Day of Action is so important to all of us at Paul’s Pantry.” Since its inception in 2002, Touchdowns for Hunger has raised over $1.85 million, providing more than one million meals for families across Wisconsin. “Hunger Task Force is grateful for the more than 20 years of financial support we’ve received from Sargento through the Touchdowns for Hunger Program,” said Matt King, CEO of Hunger Task Force. “Due to the Packers’ on-field success, Sargento has helped us feed thousands of children, families, and seniors in need in Wisconsin.” Green Bay breaks ground on $12.5M public market, aiming for 2025 opening With 21 Packers touchdowns so far this season, the program has added another $42,000 toward hunger relief efforts in the state. “When Sargento partnered with the Packers 22 seasons ago for ‘Touchdowns for Hunger,’ we started a tradition that raises awareness of hunger in Wisconsin while celebrating our home team and our community,” said Sargento CEO Louie Gentine. “As a family-owned company, we understand that feeding people and providing access to food is how our communities win. We’re proud to start off a new tradition and demonstrate our values by volunteering at Paul’s Pantry, which has been a part of our ‘Touchdowns’ program since 2008.”
