While parts of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio have enjoyed some heavy downpours, Fort Wayne has been incredibly dry this October. 80° temperatures rare this late in October Including Tuesday so far, Fort Wayne has only picked up 0.01 inches of rain in October 2024. This is currently 2.11 inches below average. More notable though is that this is the driest start to October we have ever seen in Fort Wayne, with weather records dating back to 1897. We are currently experiencing the driest ever start to an October in Fort Wayne. Our only measurable rainfall came on Tuesday, October 15th, which is when we picked up that 0.01 inch rainfall total. Only 0.01 inches of rain has fallen this month on the 15th. This also means we are on pace to experience the driest October ever in Fort Wayne. Our 0.01 inch rainfall total would currently easily place us at the top of the list of driest Octobers.
