(COLORADO SPRINGS) — For a family-friendly haunted house that supports a good cause, the "Rocky Mountain Picture Show" is a great option. FOX21 News Photojournalist Matthew Putnam took a closer look at the set-up, exploring the sights, sounds, and who will benefit. Ben Skee, owner of First Strike Krav Maga and Dance Wonderland, is the organizer of the Haunted Gardens and the Rocky Mountain Picture Show. [It was] very, very humble compared to where we're at now," said Skee." And while I like all the haunted houses that there are around town, and everything, we chose to go more of the family-friendly style because we obviously have kids and I know a lot of those places. You just can't bring kids to." Skee transforms his house into a haunted mansion using a projection mapping system. He started the haunted house tradition a year ago and shared why it's his passion to raise donations for TESSA. "So TESSA is El Paso County's safe line, crisis line. They also operate a safe house for those who are victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault," said Skee. "And they have all kinds of different services available that they provide to the survivors to help them get back on their feet. Tessa can't do that without the community support. So that's why it's really important to us to raise money for them." "We would really love for you to come out, see the show," said Skee. "You'll be able to come out with your family, check out all of our illusions, and do some trick or treating... And it's an opportunity not only to enjoy the spirit of the season but also if you are able to give a donation to TESSA."
