BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Are you heading to the Taylor Swift concert in New Orleans this weekend? Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill shared some tips for concertgoers on avoiding scams.
The Eras Tour will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Oct. 25-27. With people looking for last-minute tickets for the much-anticipated concert, Murrill shared some tips on how to avoid ticket scams.
Those tips include only purchasing tickets from official sources, using secure payment methods, researching the seller or website, being cautious of deals that seem too good to be true, reporting suspected scams, being aware of unsolicited emails and messages and not giving out your personal information, according to a news release.
Murrill also noted in the news release that concertgoers should also be aware of hotels and businesses that are reportedly canceling reservations made in advance and upcharging rooms ahead of the event.

"Taking advantage of Louisiana residents and tourists visiting our state is wrong, and State Consumer Protection law prohibits unfair and deceptive practices," said Murrill. "I encourage everyone to do their homework and investigate before making a concert-related purchase this weekend."
Louisiana residents and tourists can file a consumer dispute with the Attorney General's Office if they experience unfair or deceptive business practices. Click here to file an online consumer dispute form.
