Live animals! A kid’s carnival! Music from Jaws! For our first concert of the season the Austin Symphony is pulling out all the stops. Animalia, a family friendly concert and carnival, will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. in Knowlton Auditorium. But families with kids should come at 1 p.m. to view the animals and play animal — themed games. There will even be prizes! The concert follows with fun music, such as Old MacDonald Had a Farm (with the animal sounds), a narration of the book “On The Day You Were Born” with music and video, and the music from the movie “Jaws.” For classical buffs we will end with the Finale to the Firebird with photos of the Phoenix throughout history projected on the big screen. Tickets are going fast but can still be purchased at Hy Vee or Coffee House on Main. You can also get tickets for the entire season or individual concerts at www.austinmnsymphony.org or by calling 507 460 3678.
