WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A man was critically injured after being hit by a car Tuesday in northeast Wichita. It happened around 6:45 a.m. at 21st Street North and Rock Road, right by the Dillons store. KSN News learned the man was hit by a car heading west on 21st Street North. "The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and was not within the crosswalk area at the time," Lt. Krys Henderson, Wichita Police Department, said. Evergy to build 2 natural gas plants in Kansas Henderson said the man was taken to the hospital with extremely critical injuries. The driver remained on the scene and was cooperative. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected. Police closed 21st Street in the area as they investigated.
