ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque City Councilors unanimously voted to designate the northern section of Fairview Cemetery as an official city landmark. City council looks into downtown, Old Town parking change That area of the cemetery contains headstones and tombs of prominent figures like city founders, governors and rough riders. The city's historic preservation department and the president of the historic Fairview Cemetery say the grounds meet the criteria to be a landmark. Another ordinance passed Monday night, designating the Aldo Leopold House on 14th St. as a city landmark. Leopold played a key role in conservation and land management practices.
