RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 16-year-old victim's injury status has been downgraded from life-threatening to non-life-threatening after a shooting in Richmond's East End on Monday. Around 6 p.m. on Oct. 21, Richmond Police officers were called to the 2100 block of Ford Avenue for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot. He was taken to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. On Tuesday, Oct. 22, a spokesperson with the Richmond Police Department confirmed that the victim's injuries were now considered non-life-threatening. The Richmond Police Department is continuing to investigate.
