HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Richmond man claimed the $1 million Mega Millions prize and was just one number away from winning the jackpot. According to the Virginia Lottery, the winner purchased a ticket at the Kroger located at 9351 Atlee Road in Mechanicsville. According to the lottery, the winner, Andrew Logan, selected six numbers that he plays often. When the winning numbers came out on Sept. 24, he matched the first five numbers -- winning the Mega Millions' second prize. (Courtesy of Virginia Lottery) "Just one glance, and I fell into a daze," said Logan when asked to describe the moment he noticed he won the $1 million Mega Millions prize. The winning numbers in the drawing were 1-6-10-23-27, with the Mega Ball number being 18. “I went through the full range of emotions,” Logan told Lottery officials. He was one of two Virginia winners to receive $1 million, the other winner's ticket was purchased in Chesterfield. The odds of matching the first five numbers in Mega Millions is 1 in 12,607,306. The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot is 1 in 302,575,350.
