EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Citizens Bank is set to close its Rumford branch early next year, 12 News has learned. "We’ve been on a journey at Citizens to evolve how our customers bank with us, and we continually review customer patterns to adjust branch strategy across our network," the company said in a statement. Healey tried luring Citizens to Mass. amid RI tax dispute, speaker says While the branch at 275 Newport Ave. will close on Jan. 22, 2025, nearby branches on Newport and East avenues in Pawtucket will remain open, according to Citizens. "Branches remain a key part of our overall strategy to help customers bank when, where, and how they prefer, and we remain committed to supporting and engaging within the communities we serve," the company added.
