FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum presented a variety of foods and beverages to WANE 15 Tuesday ahead of the Fort Wayne Komets home opener on Friday. The east food court provides pizza and Asian-inspired cuisine. "Slice'd" Pizza & Submarino provides quality Italian food with pizza and breadsticks. There will be a special pizza every week as well to complement their traditional pizza. "Wok this Wayne," prepares Asian cuisine such as orange chicken and rice. Nathan Dennison, the vice president of sales, said this is often the most popular vendor. Suites are also an area of delicious discovery, with foods such as garlic cheese curds, the unique "Badger Burger" with Wisconsin cheese, to soft pretzels from Tell City out of Jasper, Indiana. In the west food court, you will find many more popular food items, such as the trendy "Smashburger," grilled mac & cheese, funnel cake fries, and more. BBQ 58 serves pulled pork loaded tater tots - another fan favorite - and BBQ beef sandwiches along with rotisserie shredded mac & cheese. The Coliseum also has a new partner, Country Heritage Winery. They will provide wine slushies, with different special flavors throughout the year with the growing popularity of wine slushies. Customers can also get charcuterie boards with wine. Soft serve ice cream and root beer floats are also an option when in need of treating your sweet tooth at the Coliseum. The Komets home opener is Friday, Oct. 25, but these food options will be available all season long and for numerous events outside of Komets hockey.
