El Paso Electric customers to see small credit on bills
Oct 22, 2024
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- All Texas El Paso Electric (EPE) customers will receive a credit on their bills this November and December under the fuel charge line item, the company said Tuesday, Oct. 22
The average residential customer will receive a credit of approximately $3, the utility said.
The fuel factor is designed to recover the cost of the fuel used to generate electricity, a cost EPE incurs to generate electricity for its customers, the company said.
EPE does not earn a profit on fuel costs, it added.
Texas customer refunds will vary based on the rate service they are currently on. EPE adjusts fuel factors periodically to more accurately reflect the current and forecasted cost of fuel, the company said.
In New Mexico, fuel is adjusted monthly.
