AUSTIN (KXAN) — A new list from Texas Monthly ranked eight Austin taquerias among the best tacos in the Lone Star State. The list, released Monday, ranked the "50 Best Tacos in Texas" after Texas Monthly's taco editor José R. Ralat visited over 400 taquerias across Texas. He judged tacos based on craft, quality, creativity and flavor, according to Texas Monthly. Among the top 10 taquerias is Nixta Taqueria in east Austin. The restaurant describes itself as a mix between traditional Mexican food and “the unconventional.” Their best taco is the enchilada potosina, according to the list.
