MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The newly appointed Memphis Area Transit Authority Board will meet for the first time since being selected.
This comes after Mayor Paul Young replaced all nine of the previous members.
The new board, which was appointed by Mayor Paul Young last week is set to vote on two big proposals that will go into effect next month -- suspending the service and fare changes. Both of these resolutions were approved late last month.

Suspending the service includes route modifications and service reductions.
According to MATA, fare changes were intended to improve operational costs and financial sustainability.
Both proposals were set to go into effect on November 3, however, change could soon come following Tuesday's meeting.
After the board members were approved, Mayor Young seemed optimistic about the future of MATA.
The board is also scheduled to go over MATA's financials from July and August.
