LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW) — A man was taken into custody after a 36-year-old man was shot in the leg late Monday morning in Lumberton, police said. Officers responded at about 11:45 a.m. to the 1200 block of North Elm Street after getting a report that someone had been shot. EMS treated the man before he was taken to an undisclosed medical facility. Information about the extent of his injuries was not immediately available. John Ethan Hendren, 26, of Lumberton, was located after a short search of the surrounding area and taken into custody without incident, Lumberton police said. He was taken to the Robeson County Detention Center to await a court appearance.
