FIREBAUGH, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Firefighters were fed by Firebaugh community members Saturday evening after battling a "hard-fought" fire, the Volunteer Firefighters Association of Firebaugh announced. Fire crews report just after 9:30 p.m. they responded to the 1600 block of Allardt Drive for a structure fire. Responding crews say the building was unoccupied and fully engulfed in flames. The building was determined to be owned by the Fresno County Housing Authority. Firefighters say they went into defense mode to contain the flames and with assistance from Cal Fire, it was extinguished. As an appreciation for their hard work, firefighters were fed food, including tacos, by a local family. "On behalf of the Firebaugh Fire Department, we would like to thank the Fraga family for their generosity and support. Following the hard-fought fire, the Fraga family offered dinner to the firefighters on scene. Thank You," the department posted to social media. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
