PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Prince Edward County Sheriff's Office is offering an up to $1,000 reward for any helpful information on whoever sawed a Sandy River Reservoir sign off of its posts and stole it. On Monday, Oct. 21, the sheriff's office announced that it is investigating the theft of the Farmer-Jenkins Dam sign posted at the Sandy River Reservoir. Authorities said the theft itself took place over the weekend, between Oct. 18 to Oct. 20. The sign, which was positioned near the boat ramp, was sawed off of its wooden posts and stolen.
