New information released after police chase suspect arrested at Quail Springs Mall

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City Police have released new information about a high speed chase that ended with one man arrested at Quail Springs Mall on Friday afternoon.

Police say officers started chasing the suspect, 56-year-old Melvin Platt III, after a flock camera spotted a stolen license plate on his car.
Platt reportedly led officers on a chase for several miles before jumping out of the car in the parking lot of Quail Springs Mall and running inside JCPenny.
According to the police report, officers eventually caught up to Platt on the bridge over the Kilpatrick Turnpike after he was spotted changing his shirt on the side of a BJ's Restaurant.
Platt was arrested for receiving stolen property.
