RAYVILLE, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- From spiders to ants, various bugs can take advantage of your festive Halloween setup.
Many of our favorite decorations can serve as an attractive hiding spot for pests, especially mice.
Hay bales are a big factor in, you know, dealing with mice. Most of the time, there's a situation where if it's on the ground for a long time, they do get fire ants in them too, so I'd be very careful.

Worsley also tells us that the popular artificial spider webs residents love can also attract real spiders.
While decorations are the big fuss, many residents will forget to throw candy out, also attracting pests.
Away from the decorations, most people throw those away, but people don't throw away candy. So, they just stick it in a drawer somewhere, and then the next thing you know, we're getting a phone call for fire ants. Ants, sugar ants, and definitely mice.

Worsley recommends storing any decorations in airtight containers to deter pests from making a home in your festive items.
