MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Two motorcyclists who led officers on a high-speed chase across three counties have been arrested, according to CHP. The patrol says the motorcyclists reached speeds of up to 126 miles per hour. When the riders failed to stop, CHP says they pursued them at high speeds on Highway 99, reaching up to 140 miles per hour. Officers say the first motorcyclist was arrested at a gas station in Modesto in Stanislaus County; the other was apprehended further north in Ripon in San Joaquin County. The motorcycles being ridden were a Honda CBR 1000 and a Yamaha R6. Investigators report no injuries or damage to property.
