Brush fire in Fallbrook prompts evacuation warning for nearby homes

FALLBROOK, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Firefighters are battling a brush fire behind a residential neighborhood in Fallbrook Monday afternoon, and an evacuation warning is in place for nearby homes.
Fire crews are battling a 3-4 acre brush fire -- dubbed the Circle Fire -- that broke out in the 5000 block of Lake Circle Road in Fallbrook around 2 p.m. Monday.

At 2:20 p.m. Monday, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation warning for the area of Lake Circle Drive and Lake View Way in Fallbrook as the fire was burning directly behind homes.
A road closure is also in place on Dulin Road and Lake Circle Drive.

As of 2:49 p.m., the North County Fire Protection District said the forward rate of spread has been stopped, however those road closures and evacuations remain in place at this time.
