(KRON) -- A driver who allegedly spun donuts in a Ford Mustang at a Vallejo sideshow overnight Sunday told officers he attended because he was “bored,” according to the Vallejo Police Department (VPD). Police responded at 1:26 a.m. to Sonoma Boulevard and Indiana Street after receiving multiple reports of a sideshow. Vallejo authorities said approximately 100 vehicles and participants had blocked traffic in the area while people drove recklessly. A California Highway Patrol helicopter flying overhead informed Vallejo officers that a black 2001 Ford Mustang was spinning donuts in the intersection. When the Mustang began to drive away, Vallejo police on the ground initiated a traffic stop near Mississippi and Napa streets. The Mustang was towed from the street, VPD said, and will be impounded for 30 days. Approximately an hour after reports of sideshow activity in Vallejo, the Oakland Police Department also confirmed to KRON4 that it responded to sideshows at multiple locations in the city. "OPD officers responded to the areas and the vehicles and spectators began dispersing," police said. No arrests were announced in connection to Sunday morning's sideshows.
