OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma City Police Department released chilling new video of the final moments of a gas station clerk's life. The video shows the man who police believe stabbed 18-year-old Jaedynn Anthony to death while she was working overnight inside the 7-Eleven off of Wilshire and Council. "The suspect entered into the store, they were the only two inside the store at the time, had approached the counter inside and appeared to pay for some items there at the counter," said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD. Police said when Anthony opened the register, the man pulled out a knife and went behind the counter. "The register was emptied, the suspect then stabbed the victim before fleeing on foot," said Quirk. Police said the clerk had been there for nearly an hour before a customer walked in and called for help. "The caller had stated that there was a person inside the store that looked like they were critically hurt or in need of some type of medical assistance," said Quirk. Now, police are trying to figure out why this happened. ORIGINAL STORY: One dead at Oklahoma City metro gas station, police say "We don't know why the the victim in this case complied, did everything she was supposed to do and complied with with demands from the suspect and he killed her anyway," said Quirk. Customers living nearby said this was the last thing they expected to happen so close to home. "Nothing like that used to ever happen on this side of town and it just seems like it's getting kind of worse around here, honestly," said Dalton Saunders, who lives nearby. Now customers say the murder of the young mom has left them on edge. "She had nobody there to help her, nobody there to try to assist. Nobody, nothing. I think it's really awful. She was there alone," said Saunders. "I mean, not even 48 hours later, they were already back to business and that's just shocking." 7-Eleven is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspect, along with up to $1,000 in Crime Stoppers reward money. Anyone with information can reach out to Crime Stoppers or the homicide tip line at 405-235-7300. If you would like to donate to support Anthony's one-year-old child, Brayden, the GoFundMe page can be found here.
