Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — Three people have been arrested, and another is wanted after a shooting in Chalmette. On Saturday, Oct. 19, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 3500 block of Kings Drive around 11:45 a.m. Decomposed body found in Mid-City classified a homicide At the scene, SBSO deputies said they found casings with no suspects or victims. Following an investigation, detectives said Real Time Crime footage showed a blue Jeep allegedly driven by 26-year-old Jesse Mondy approaching a person walking on King Drive. Jesse Mondy (Courtesy: St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office) SBSO officials said the person walking and a passenger in the Jeep allegedly took out weapons and began shooting at each other while the Jeep drove away. According to SBSO detectives, the passenger in the Jeep and the pedestrian were 15 and 16 years old. SBSO officials said a third person, identified by detectives as 17-year-old Marcus Hartzog, and a 1-year-old child were also in the car at the time of the shooting. SBSO detectives said the 15-year-old, the 16-year-old and Hartzog were later arrested in connection with the investigation. According to the SBSO, "Detectives also learned that the 15-year-old male is an acquaintance of the 16-year-old male and Hartzog, and the group has a history of prior conflicts." Baton Rouge man arrested on allegations of solicitation of St. Tammany Parish teen The 15-year-old faces five counts of attempted second-degree murder, the 16-year-old faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder and Hartzog faces a charge of principal to attempted second-degree murder. According to the SBSO, Mondy is wanted on charges of principal to attempted second-degree murder and child endangerment.
