LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington Police say two Fayette County residents were arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of three children. The incident, which unfolded two weeks ago, involved two family members who did not have custody rights. Authorities were alerted to the situation on October 7th when a caller reported that the children were allegedly being taken out of state by Ashley Brown and Kolene Shahan. Later that evening, Delaware State Police successfully intercepted the vehicle and safely recovered the children. Both Brown and Shahan have been charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
