(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The "In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade" will be marching forward in place of the recent cancelation of the Colorado Springs Veterans Day Parade, and here is everything you need to know for the upcoming parade on Saturday, Nov. 9. The new parade is hosted by Colorado International Events Owner John O'Donnell — the parade's original organizer. O'Donnell previously led the other parade, organized by the Board of Directors, until 1999. Veterans Day Parade: New organizer has long-term vision O'Donnell's family started the Saint Patrick's Day Parade, the Festival of Lights Parade, and more. The In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade aims to celebrate and recognize the sacrifices of veterans and active-duty members of the military stationed in Colorado Springs. The parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. and will run south on North Tejon Street, from East St. Vrain Street to East Vermijo Avenue. The parade will feature multiple organizations, veteran groups, and community supporters. According to the parade's Facebook page, parade participation is at full capacity and all 100+ entries have been filled. The parade will feature FOX21 Morning News Anchor Craig Coffee as the emcee. The parade is still accepting donations and has sponsorship opportunities. More information about the parade, including announcements about the Grand Marshal and special guests will be revealed closer to the date. The community is invited to come out and honor veterans and military members.
