DICKINSON, N.D. (KXNET) — A 24-year-old man from Dickinson was arrested on Thursday, October 17th, after assaulting an officer during an arrest attempt related to an aggravated assault incident. According to a press release from the Dickinson Police Department, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 1000 block of Meadows Drive. When they arrived, they learned that the suspect had allegedly choked another individual during the altercation. North Dakota Crime Tracker 2024 When officers attempted to take the man into custody, he allegedly resisted arrest, and kicked an officer in the side of the head. Despite this resistance, officers were able to restrain and handcuff him. The injured officer sustained minor wounds, but remained on duty. The suspect was promptly arrested and transported to the Southwest Multi-County Correctional Center. He is now facing multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault, Assault on a Peace Officer, Preventing Arrest, and Interference with an Emergency Call, all Class-C Felonies.
