BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A Kern County jury reached eight more guilty verdicts against Jonathan Knight, charged with murder in the death of 5-year-old Kason Guyton, court officials said. In all, Jonathan Knight was found guilty of 11 of the 12 counts, including murder and attempted murder, jurors announced Monday morning. Knight ended up pleading no contest to a count of participating in a street gang. Kern County Superior Court officials were alerted the jury reached the verdicts on Monday morning. On Friday, the jury reached a partial verdict against Jonathan Knight and were sent back to deliberate further. The jury found Knight guilty of several charges related to a shooting on Remington Avenue in 2019. No one was wounded in that shooting. Knight was found guilty of shooting an inhabited dwelling or vehicle, assault with a gun and possession of a gun by a felon. Prosecutors argued Knight targeted a rival gang member on Feb. 23, 2017 and unintentionally hit Kason and Kason's then 7-year-old brother in a car-to-car shooting at California Avenue and S Street. Knight is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 19. Jeremy King, Knight's former co-defendant in the case, testified against Knight in the trial. King accepted a plea deal in exchange for his testimony and a sentence of six years. King has enough custody credits that he's expected to be released when sentenced. King is scheduled to be formally sentenced on Nov. 20. Check back for updates.
