Man slain in driveby outside Rogers Park CTA station identified

Someone inside a black SUV opened fire, killing a man standing outside the Morse Red Line stop in Rogers Park Sunday night, police said. Derrick Robie, 27, was standing at 1358 W. Morse Ave. around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night when someone in a passing black SUV drove past and fired shots, police said. The Morse station is located at 1358 W. Morse Ave. When officers got there, Robie was inside the station, and paramedics were trying to save his life but Robie was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. No one is in custody and Area 3 detectives are investigating.
