ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Court documents reveal new details in the case against the woman accused of killing her sister in Honeoye Falls. According to a felony complaint from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Jamie Jo Busch, 53, strangled her sister Penny Busch to death between 4:40 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on October 8 in her home on Ontario Street in Honeoye Falls. She allegedly took three cell phones from the home early the next morning and threw them into a dumpster at the Dunkin' on West Main Street. Police believe Jamie Jo Busch threw her sister's body into the Genesee River sometime between October 8 and October 12. Penny Busch was reported missing after police performed a welfare check at her home on October 11. Investigators said information they received on October 14 led them to search the Genesee River in Rush, where her body was found. According to the felony complaint, investigators used cell phone records, surveillance footage, and physical evidence to link Jamie Jo Busch to the crime. She was arrested Friday and charged with second degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Jamie Busch was immediately placed on leave from her position as a paraprofessional in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District. Superintendent Gene Mancuso released a statement Friday, saying, “although we have never encountered a situation like this in our district, we are confident that, as a community, we will come together, support one another, and get through this difficult time.”
