Seneca Waterways Council CEO leaves for Scouting America

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Stephen Hoitt, the Scout Executive and CEO of the Seneca Waterways Council, will be leaving after nearly 15 years of work.
Hoitt will be leaving the council to become the Territory Director for Scouting America. He will command operations across multiple states in the Northeast, including New York.
Hoitt has had 33 years of service, including leadership roles in Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. He oversaw integrating girls into the Scouts and led a campaign that ended with the construction of a new headquarters.
He will leave his role on October 31, 2024, but will remain as the interim Scout Executive until early 2025.
