BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - On Sunday, the Bulloch County Fire Department and Statesboro Fire Department responded to a wildfire. The fire took place a few miles outside of Statesboro in the 3000 block of Westside Road, near Edwards Wrecking Yard. The blaze quickly spread, covering over two acres before firefighters were able to bring it under control. SFD looking for person of interest related to fire The Grice Connect reports the fire consumed several cars at the wrecking yard and posed a serious threat to nearby structures, but all structures were protected. Bulloch County Sheriff's Office deputies closed Westside Road for several hours as crews worked to contain and extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
