SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Historic Hotels of America has released its 2024 list of the Most Haunted Hotels of America, and two New Mexico spots made the cut. According to the list, La Posada de Santa Fe and La Fonda in Santa Fe are some of the country's most haunted hotels. Built in 1882, La Posada de Santa Fe is said to be haunted by the original owner's late wife, Julia Staab. Guests and staff have reported seeing her apparition in Room 101, named Julia's Suite, and in the Rose Room on the ground floor. "The hotel embraces its haunted reputation, offering history tours that include tales of Julia Staab and other ghostly encounters," says Historic Hotels of America's website. It adds, "La Posada de Santa Fe stands today as a testament to Santa Fe's rich cultural tapestry, blending historical elegance with an intriguing paranormal legacy."
