Here are the IE Varsity high school football rankings heading into Week 9. IE VARSITY’S HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RANKINGS 1. Centennial (6-2) The Huskies knocked off Murrieta Valley in Big West Conference action. Previous ranking: 1 Up next: Friday vs. Norco 2. Murrieta Valley (6-2) The Nighthawks lost but the defense limited Centennial to only 28 points. Previous ranking: 2 Up next: Friday vs. Vista Murrieta 3. Chaparral (6-2) The Pumas bounced back from a loss by outlasting Norco 48-37 last week. Previous ranking: 3 Up next: Thursday at Roosevelt 4. Rancho Cucamonga (6-2) The Cougars beat Etiwanda and extended their winning streak to six games. Beaumont (7-1) The Cougars have control of the Citrus Belt League after beating Citrus Valley. Previous ranking: 6 Up next: Thursday vs. Redlands East Valley 7. San Jacinto (5-3, two losses by forfeit) The Tigers return from a bye looking to reclaim the Mountain Pass League title. Previous ranking: 7 Up next: Thursday vs. West Valley 8. Cajon (6-2) The Cowboys cruised to a 49-10 victory over Redlands in last week’s CBL game. Previous ranking: 8 Up next: Thursday at Citrus Valley 9. Vista Murrieta (5-3) The Broncos rebounded from a loss with a 21-10 win over Roosevelt last week. Previous ranking: 9 Up next: Friday at Murrieta Valley 10. Aquinas (6-2) The Falcons routed Heritage Christian for the program’s 35th straight league win. Previous ranking: 10 Up next: Friday vs. Capistrano Valley Christian at JSerra HS 11. Bonita (8-0) The Bearcats remained unbeaten following last week’s 34-20 win over Los Osos. Previous ranking: 11 Up next: Friday at Charter Oak 12. Chino Hills (5-3) The Huskies battled down to the wire but ultimately came up short at Damien. Previous ranking: 12 Up next: Thursday vs. Rancho Cucamonga 13. Upland (3-5) The Highlanders rallied for a 31-28 win over Ayala and snapped a five-game skid. Previous ranking: 13 Up next: Thursday at Ayala 14. Orange Vista (4-4) The Coyotes remained unbeaten in Ivy League play with a win over Vista del Lago. Previous ranking: 15 Up next: Thursday vs. North 15. Norco (3-5) The Cougars did erase a 21-point deficit but could not keep pace with Chaparral. Previous ranking: 14 Up next: Friday at Centennial 16. Summit (7-1) The SkyHawks opened Sunkist League play with a 44-0 victory over Kaiser. Murrieta Mesa (4-4) The Rams have the lead in the Big West Conference-South Division title race.
