NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide after a body was found decomposed in a Mid-City neighborhood. Around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, NOPD officers responded to the call of a foul odor in the 3200 block of Iberville Street where they reportedly found a decomposed body. Man arrested, accused in Amite double homicide The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office classified the incident as a homicide on Oct. 21, after it was discovered that the man had been shot. The investigation remains ongoing. NOPD officers are in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive. Car hauler catches fire on I-59 southbound in St. Tammany Parish The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity after the autopsy is done and the family is notified.
