Baton Rouge man arrested on allegations of solicitation of St. Tammany Parish teen

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Baton Rouge man is in police custody on accusations of soliciting a minor for sexual activity.
In collaboration with the FBI, on Sept. 27, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into 33-year-old Joel Champagne in connection to the solicitation allegation.

The investigation revealed that on Oct. 17, Champagne allegedly traveled from Baton Rouge to St. Tammany Parish intending to meet and engage in sexual activity with a 14-year-old.
Champagne was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on charges of computer-aided solicitation with a minor and indecent behavior with juveniles.
The investigation is ongoing.
