One injured in officerinvolved shooting in TN

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- An officer-involved shooting in Haywood County, Tennessee over the weekend left one person injured, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The TBI announced on Monday that shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, a deputy with the Haywood County Sheriff's Office approached a vehicle in the 3700 block of Windrow Road in Brownsville. They say the vehicle previously led another deputy on a pursuit.

The situation reportedly escalated and the deputy fired his gun at least once, striking one of the two passengers. The injured passenger was taken to a Memphis hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for treatment.
The TBI says no law enforcement officers were hurt in the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing and "agents are working to independently determine the series of events leading to the shooting," according to the TBI.
