file photo     LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A person who died after a two-vehicle collision on Saturday was identified by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, said the coroner’s office. The collision happened on Saturday morning, Oct. 19, in the 2300 block of S. Lake Drive around 9:20 a.m. According to Coroner Fisher, Virginia Ellen Burtle, 46, of Pelion was traveling westbound on S. Lake Drive while another vehicle was traveling eastbound on S. Lake Drive and collided head-on. Burtle was taken to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead from the injuries she received during the collision. Two other people in Burtle’s vehicle were taken to an area hospital with injuries also. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT are continuing to investigate the incident.
