Lexington Co. coroner identifies pedestrian killed after Pelion collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified the person who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident in the Pelion area, said the coroner’s office.
The incident happened on Saturday, Oct. 19, in the 100 block of Hartley Quarter Road around 7 p.m.
According to Coroner Fisher, Madelein Lopez-Resendiz, 25, of Pelion was walking westbound on Hartley Quarter Road when she was hit by a vehicle also traveling westbound on Hartley Quarter Road.
Lopez-Resendiz was pronounced dead on scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision.
Officials said the driver did not stop and fled the scene.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT are continuing to investigate the incident.
