(COLORADO SPRING) — Over the weekend the Colorado Springs Event Center hosted the Inaugural First Villain Arts Tattoo Festival, which featured 350 artists from around the world. The public had the chance to get tattooed by any of the hundreds of artists in attendance and in any style of their choice. "They're really meaningful to people, you know, from past memories. It takes a lot of passion to do these kinds of things because they are so sentimental to individuals," said Ben Perry, Artist of the Howling Wolf Tattoo Collective "So, you know, you got to really sit down and connect with somebody, figure out exactly what they're wanting. You know, you got to go over and over again just to make sure you're hitting exactly what somebody wants. It takes a lot to do this. And it's very meaningful to me and them." For those who were not interested in tattoos, the event featured many vendors selling everything from clothing to jewelry. Organizers said they plan to bring the event back to Colorado Springs in 2025 but no official date has been set.
