MONROE, NC – A suspected bank robber is in the Union County Detention Center after detectives arrested him near the bank. The robbery happened around 10am Friday at the Bank of America branch on East Roosevelt Boulevard in Monroe. Officers were told a man wearing a reflective vest and a hard had threatened to shoot a teller if she didn’t fill a bag with money. Detectives arriving at the scene spotted the suspect running through a nearby parking lot an arrested him. Richard Adams is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
