CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting that killed one person inside a rented studio space off North Davidson Street in the city’s art district, NoDa. The shooting was reported shortly after 8:30pm on Sunday, October 20th. When officers arrived on the scene, they located two people who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. One person sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release. The other person was pronounced dead on the scene. CMPD says it appears that the shooting stemmed from a robbery attempt. “Gunshots were exchanged between two people, now one is dead,” says Major Dave Johnson with CMPD. Police say there were multiple witnesses in the building and on scene when the shooting happened. CMPD says they are not searching for any suspects at this time. This is a developing story.
