CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A dog was safely rescued from a weekend house fire on Muirfield Parkway, officials said.
Crews with the Charleston Fire Department and partner agencies responded to a call saying a home was possibly on fire Saturday shortly before 6 p.m.
Firefighters arrived within minutes and reported smoke coming from the two-story, single-family home. They entered the residence and removed a dog, who was not injured, from the first floor.
A fire was found in the second-floor bathroom, which was quickly extinguished. Investigators determined the fire originated near the bathroom exhaust fan.
“Damage was primarily contained to the bathroom,” officials said.
Charleston Fire officials said the occupants were not home during the fire. No injuries were reported.
