I encourage you to learn about Megan’s vision for Summit County, think about what you wish for our community, and then vote for Megan McKenna on Nov. 5. During my time as Summit County health director, especially during the pandemic, I observed that Megan was vested in assuring the people who live in, work in and visit Summit County were well. She is motivated to work unselfishly for the good of people. For many years she has actively supported and contributed to county and community priorities. These include efforts to make our home a place where people may prosper and be well long term. Megan truly cares about this place, and the people here. Megan’s priorities for our community align with my own. Over the decades that I have lived and worked in Summit County, I have gained appreciation for the concerns and needs of our residents and visitors. Megan’s work and priorities are squarely focused on addressing those concerns and needs. Megan has the experience and values to assure that county resources are efficiently utilized to help make our home the place we need and want it to be. Megan’s experience, demographic and expertise is unique. She grew up in Park City. Her work in our public schools as a teacher is distinctive. She understands our youth in the ways only a teacher can. She grasps the difficulty of being working class and living in this community. She is a person who was shaped growing up in this special place. She understands us and will be a crucial voice bringing balance and a broader view to the County Council. Again, I strongly encourage you to visit mckennaforsummitcounty.com and to ask yourself if Megan’s vision aligns with your own. I’m betting it does. What her website can’t fully communicate, however, is what a good person Megan is. Doing good for others is intrinsic to her. Summit County, our lands and our people, are in her soul. Her talents, experience, goodness and vision have served our county well.
