RICHMOND, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was killed last night in a crash that happened on I-95 northbound in Richmond. According to Rhode Island State Police, the call came in around 6:50 p.m. Officials said a 16-year-old and his mother were driving a car, towing another car behind them. In the car they were towing was a man steering the vehicle, identified as the father and husband. Witnesses told police the family was going well below the “minimum” speed limit. Police said a construction truck hit the man’s car from behind. He was taken to the hospital where has pronounced dead. Both the 16-year-old and his mother had minor injuries. The highway was shut down until 10:15 p.m. At this time, the crash is an active investigation. This is a developing story – stay with ABC6 news for updates.    Categories: News
