PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Three years after the death of Miya Brophy-Bearman, the second man accused of her murder is now in the courtroom. Shawn Mann is facing counts of murder, possession of a ghost gun, and nearly a dozen additional charges. While the trial began last week, courts prohibited cameras from recording inside the trial, ABC6 news has been inside taking notes on what happens. Friday saw opening statements against Mann as witnesses took the stand to recall the night of Brophy-Bearman’s death. Isaiah Pinkerton, the other person involved in this shooting, was given two life sentences by a jury earlier this year. Mann is facing similar charges as Pinkerton during this trial. Todays trial is expected to continue with witness testimony here at Providence Superior court, that’s expected to resume this morning. Categories: News
