KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Kansas City's Northeast neighborhood. Police say the shooting happened at Independence Avenue and Bales just after 3 a.m. Monday morning. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. While officers were on scene, another man showed up in a private vehicle to a hospital. That victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. KCPD said a fight happened before shots were fired. Police have released no other information. Police are still at the scene investigating.
